Getting started
- Sign in with Apple, then tap Connect with Strava and approve access.
- Tap Sync bikes to pull your gear list across from Strava.
- Create a rule — for example, "rides recorded on my ELEMNT BOLT belong to my Canyon Aeroad".
- Ride. New uploads are corrected automatically, and the Home feed shows what changed.
Common questions
My ride wasn't corrected
Check the Home feed — every upload appears there with the reason it was or wasn't changed. The usual causes are that no rule matched the recording device, that the activity isn't a ride, or that your Pro subscription has lapsed. You can always fix a one-off from the activity detail screen with the manual override.
How does GearFix know which bike I rode?
From the recording device and paired sensors reported with the upload — your head unit's name, and (if you've connected Wahoo Cloud) the power meter and sensor IDs inside the FIT file. You map those to bikes with rules you write. There's no guessing and no machine learning involved.
How quickly does a correction happen?
Usually within seconds of Strava telling us about the upload. If Strava's webhooks are delayed, the correction lands when the notification arrives.
Do I need a Wahoo device?
No. Device-name rules work with anything that uploads to Strava. Connecting Wahoo Cloud is optional and simply gives GearFix richer sensor detail to match on.
Subscriptions and billing
GearFix Pro starts with a free trial and then renews monthly or yearly. Billing is handled entirely by Apple — we never see your card details.
To view, change, or cancel your subscription, open the iOS Settings app, tap your name, then Subscriptions, and choose GearFix. Cancelling stops the next renewal; you keep Pro until the end of the period you've paid for. Refunds are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.
Deleting your account
In the app, go to Settings → Delete account. This erases your rules, saved sensors, correction history, and Strava tokens within 30 days. You can also revoke GearFix's access from your Strava account settings at any time, which stops all processing immediately. If you'd rather we did it for you, email support@gearfixapp.co.uk.
Deleting your GearFix account does not touch your Strava data — your activities and any corrections already applied stay exactly as they are.
Privacy
GearFix collects no analytics and contains no advertising or tracking SDK. Strava data is deleted from our servers within 7 days and FIT files are never stored. The full detail is in our Privacy Policy.
Still stuck?
Email support@gearfixapp.co.uk. Bug reports, rule types you wish existed, and head units we don't recognise are all genuinely welcome.
